Show Progression

Hello!
I have 5 blocks that represent progression through my course. When the user clicks on one block it takes them to a set of slides. Upon completion they go back to the start page I want the block to be checked. I have 2 triggers on the block, one to Jump the the slide and the next to change the checkmark from hidden to normal. Can I not jump to a different slide does it have to be just a slide layer, that would kill my idea. :/
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you!
Mike

you can either use variable to track across slides or just set the start slide to resume saved state
Thanks Phil, resume saved state worked.
Let's say I wanted to make it if they got through the 5th slide of the scene then to change the state of the checkbox. So then I would create a variable that accumulated by 1 each slide and when it got to 5 it would change the state of the checkbox? Also need to set a trigger on the first slide when the variable = 5 to make the checkbox normal?
Thanks,
Mike
I have the variable adding 1 on each slide and on the 4th slide it equals 4, then i jump back to the overview page where the Trigger states change the state of the checkbox to normal when variable = 4, however it does not work.
