show text box in try again in quiz

Hi
I have a quiz set to 3 attempts. If the user gets it wrong the first time they get Try again as normal if they get it wrong a second time they get try again but I would like them to see a text box with the answer this second time round. the third attempt would allow them to select the correct answer and move on
I think I need to hide the text box on try again, create a variable to false and then when the user goes into the try again layer for the second time to set the variable to true so the text box is normal but I am not sure how to change state etc
can anyone step me through this?

I just want to view the solution that you have sent but I couldn't open it as it needs some update to open that file in my system. I too have the same issue with one of my project. Could you please suggest me something so that I can know the solution for this issue.

Hi Wendy - just tried to open in storyline and I must need to update as it has some elements which are not available in the version I have on my work laptop - so will get it updated and see if I can open it

are you using SL3 or SL360? I'm on 360 which may have added functionality that hasn't been updated in SL3 yet.
Let me know how you go and if I have to do a video of what I did so you can replicate in your version I can do that.

even without updating you should be able to open the file. Are you getting an error message?

- this is the error message I get when I try to open it (see attached) - if I click OK it doesn't open it

My verstion is v3.8.13087.0
is that more recent than your version
No that's four versions behind the latest. Here is a link to the version history so you can see.
In your Articulate 360 desktop it should be showing updates. If not go to your profile pic and click Check for Updates.

I can open the file now I have updated my 360 - thank you I was just missing the timeline starts to activate the hidden text box
