Showing as not completed in NetLearning but OK in SCORM cloud

Oct 27, 2017

Hello,

I have a Storyline file with Report status to LMS as Passed/Incomplete and Track using number of slides viewed to complete: set to 17 of 21.

In SCORM cloud, I get  a Completion status of complete and a Success status of passed. I am using SCORM 1.2.

The customer says that she views every slide, but does gets and indication that she has not completed the course. She's asking if has anything to do with the mastery score being set to 100. I don't think that should matter...

There is some JavaScript I used previously re: the lmsAPI to force a course completion. Is this the work around I should use?

Thanks.

Hi Ed -

If your customer can put in the time with you, maybe you can do some troubleshooting to try to isolate the issue? Try taking out the extraneous slides and do 17 of 17. Try eliminating all slides except one and do a 1 of 1 for completion. Try changing the Status reported to Pass / Failed. Try changing to a scored result instead of # slides completed. And so on. By doing one test at a time, you can sometimes learn a lot about how an LMS is behaving and sometimes the issue jumps right out at you. Then again, sometimes not. :)

If you could upload your file, others might be able to try in their LMS as well and see if something jumps out.

Hope this helps.

Hi Ed,

Another idea is to take a look at enabling LMS debug mode, as that'll help you see the information being passed back and forth to your LMS from Storyline. You can compare that to what you also see working in SCORM Cloud - all good information to send to your LMS admin to help track down the issue!
