Sidebar setting acts differently in various broswers.
Sep 06, 2019
Hello, please see the attachment. I use SL 360.
I have published a course with the sidebar setting as shown in the attached screenshot.
- In Internet Explorer 11 and Chrome it works as I intended it to, the course starts with the sidebar collapsed.
- In Microsoft Edge and Firefox, the course starts with the sidebar wide open.
The preferred browser for the company I work for is Microsoft Edge, but the company also has Chrome available for installation. I have no control whatsoever over updates to newer versions or builds, as this pertains to the IT department. I assume they are as updated as they need to be.
Does anyone else experience the same? And if there is a solution that I could implement, maybe someone would be so kind as to share it With me?
Thanks,
b.

Hi Bent,
Thanks for sharing those details! I tried to replicate the issue myself and wasn't able to see what you're seeing. Regardless of what browser I tested in, I started with the sidebar collapsed. A few questions to dig a little further:
With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or you’re always welcome to share with our Support Engineers here. They’re available 24/7 to assist! We'll delete it when done troubleshooting.
Ren, thanks for replying. We agreed to not spend more time bothering about it, as a new LMS is on the way. Here are answers to your questions:
With regards to the Version of Edge, I have no Control of update schedules. With regards to Firefox, the IT department allowed me to install it locally. Updates takes place automatically.
Best regards,
Bent
Thanks, Bent for those added details! I haven't found anything similar in my searches, and it's not something we've been able to replicate either. Keep us posted if a new LMS behaves the same way, as our Support Team also has a Moodle instance we can test against too.
Good to know that you can test against Moodle. Thanks for replying.
Regards,
Bent
