Simple branching issue with triggers
Aug 19, 2012
Hi Guys,
Quick question, I have a branching screen with 5 Freeform shapes going to 5 screens.
Freeform 1 = screen 1
Freeform 2 = screen 2 ect
When I sent the ‘Jump to Slide trigger’ on say Shape 1 togo to Screen1, the rest of the other four Freeform shapes inherent that trigger. If I edit the ‘Jump to Slide trigger’ on Freeform 2 togo to Screen2, then the Freeform shape 1 inherent that trigger and goes to screen2. I have used format painter to make sure no buttons have any triggers – however when I place a trigger back on freeform shape 1 togo screen 1 – all other 4 buttons have the that same trigger. Edit or add any other trigger again – all buttons will have the same trigger.
The trigger wizard is treating these 5 Freeform shapes as a Object Trigger (Picture)
Clearly missed something simple.
Thanks
Garry

No idea...
Looks like the image is just being treated as a complete "whole", despite the fact that it is made up of individual arrows.
Assuming that is the case - yes?
Can you post the .story file?
Works fine when use 5 x different shapes.

Hi Bruce,
Thnx for responding. I have PM'ed you. I imported the shapes from standard PPT.
I have tried importing the arrows in varous ways: cut and paste, as grouped and ungrouped shapes, import the arrows as a whole slide via powerpoint import, converted as a PNG...I think standard shapes are fine.....
I think this is known issue. The problem is with SL importation of powerpoint smart art.
Did anyone find a fix for his?
Cheers
Garry
Garry - this looks like SmartArt to me - rather then individual images.I cannot see which (individual) image in .ppt this comes from.
If it is images, please can you just send me one to the email address I just PM'd to you?
Thanks
Bruce
