Sizing Problem

Feb 05, 2014

Hiya

I wondered if someone could help?  I posted about a sizing issue a few weeks ago and have managed to get our IT to recall a previous document.

My problem now is that I have an e-learning package, including screen videos, which is too big for the window of which it needs to be displayed (please see attached).  What do I do?  When I changed the sizing before it made the screen too small and put all of my links and other pictures out.

Take Care

Good Morning, Clare.

When you choose a story size that is smaller, choose one of the following:

  • Scale To Fit:  This scales the contents of your slides to fit proportionately within the new size.
  • Crop:  This crops your content to fit within the new size. Click Next to use the cropping tool to choose the crop area of each slide.

Be sure to make a back-up copy of your .story project file before you get started, just in case you run into any trouble.

If this doesn't work out for you, a possible alternative is to use the Player size selector to choose Scale player to fill browser window, which causes your published course to fill the user's browser window.

One additional word of warning is that based on the screen capture you provided, your LMS appears to be launching your course in a browser frame, with its own title bar and sidebar.  Depending on the design of this frame, this may prevent your course from detecting the size of the user's browser window into which it can scale, and you may want to consider asking your LMS vendor if the course can be launched in a new window without this frame instead.

Please let us know if you need anything else, and have a great day!
