Skin options

Jan 11, 2019

Hello, I am creating our first LMS course and I have a question on how things look once published to the LMS.

Attached are pix of the Modern and Classic skin options for our course. We are assuming that the Modern skin will show with all the gray area around it because of the navigation items on the gray layer. But with the Classic skin everything is contained within the rectangle, so I'm wondering once it is published, will all the white space around the classic skin go away and the screen will be filled with just the actual gray recangle? I hope I'm explaining that correctly. Thanks for any input to this newbie!

Hi Shari, and welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community! We're glad you're here. 😀

It looks like you captured these images from a Preview of the course? If so, you are going to see a bit of extra white space outside of the standard player area. That space is what you may see once uploaded to your LMS/server depending on your player/browser settings.

The modern player grey area is a part of the player. The reason for the difference is that the modern player always completely fills the learner’s browser, leaving no white space around the player.

It's best to try these out in your LMS as well to see if they'll add any other additional size and padding. If you're not ready to upload to the LMS, you could also use a site like SCORM Cloud for testing.
