Does anyone know how to stop SL 360 from converting my imported .wav files to .mp3? I want them to stay as .wav files, but every time I import a wav, it converts to mp3. Please help.
Hi - I installed an earlier version of SL 360 and now I am seeing .wav files again. There must have been something in one of the later updates that caused a problem. I'm just happy it's all fixed for me now!
Thanks for reaching out here. Our team is looking into this behavior right now, as it seems to only be occurring in the latest update (Storyline 360,build 3.25.18088.0). I'll let you know here as soon as we have more information!
Thanks for reaching out and reporting this issue! After checking in with our Engineers, they confirmed that this was a visual change from Update 24 to 25. When you inserted a WAV file previously it was converted to an MP3 for storage in Storyline and ultimately upon publish. Update 25 now shows that accurately within the timeline. You can still export as a WAV file from the slide stage if needed!
Hope that helps, and please let me know if you have any other questions!
Can you pass on a message to the people who create the Version History that is made available to us online? A couple of us spent a few hours trying to figure out why the audio file name changed after inserting it into Storyline. If the Version History were more complete, we could have found our answer in about 3 minutes. This is the 2nd issue I've had to research this week, only to find out it was fixed (or changed in the mp3 case), but not listed anywhere that we could find it.
That would certainly be helpful to others who do not know about this. However, my request is that fixes and changes are noted more completely going forward to prevent this in the future.

As far as I know, Storyline will always convert audio to .mp3. You can try adjusting the compression settings when publishing ,see here for info.
I'm using SL 360 as well, but my audio clips never convert from .wav to .mp3.

Interesting. I'm using SL360, version 3.25.18088.00. As soon as I import an .wav audio file, it is shown as .mp3 in the timeline.
I'm on an earlier version as well. So that's why I'm not having the conversion issue. Is this a bug?

Hi Larry,
Sorry for the trouble it caused you! I let the team know and we'll look at adding that as a note to the version history.

Thanks again!
