SL consistent crash/freeze

Jan 12, 2016

Every time I follow the following steps Story Line freezes.

1. right click background,>change to black fill

2. insert>square>left click for simple square

3. format shape>fill with picture

4. line>color white

5. shadow>i choose the selection in the "outer" section with the shadow all around (attempting to make a glow effect)

6. color of shadow to white

7. then as soon as i go to move the transparency slider everything freezes. i have to force it close through the task manager.

anyone have an idea why or how to prevent this?

thanks,

image is of it frozen.

For any others who are following along with this thread, I wanted to share the following steps that David was provided by our Support Engineers:

"I understand that Storyline 2 is crashing when formatting an inserted shape (square)

Please make sure that when creating, editing, and publishing Articulate Storyline courses, you're working on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior due to latency, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources. See this article for more information:

http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline-2/create-edit-and-publish-articulate-storyline-courses-on-your-local-hard-drive

If issue persists despite working locally, please follow the troubleshooting steps in this article that may fix unexpected or erratic behavior in Articulate Storyline 2:

http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline-2/unexpected-or-erratic-behavior-in-articulate-storyline-2

I'm not able to reproduce the issue you're experiencing after following the steps you have provided. If issue still occurrs after following the troubleshooting steps above, please record a screencast to show me the steps you're experiencing. Here's how:

1) Launch Articulate Replay on your computer and click Record Screen.
2) When the recording window appears, select a microphone in the lower left corner (if you have one).
3) Choose Full Screen for the recording area, then click the red Record button.
4) Reproduce the issue you're experiencing and click Done when you're finished.
5) When Replay reappears, click Publish on the ribbon, browse to your desktop, and click Save.
6) When the Publish Successful window appears, click Close.
7) Then use the provide link to then upload the published MP4 video from your desktop to our server"
