After inserting a video, I am copying and pasting the same video on other slides as needed. But when I generate a SCORM output, SL is inserting multiple copies of the *same* video greatly increasing the zip file size.
How can I avoid this? Is there anyway to tell SL to use the same video file?
(BTW, I'm doing this for slide load time reasons. I need the user to be able to access the video during a quiz which consists of 7 slides. I've tried placing the video on a lightbox slide, jumping to a single slide with the video, etc. but these all load too slow. The above method gives me - I think - the performance I need but the file size is too large.)
One thought - do you have to copy and paste from the video that was first inserted? I may have been copy/pasting from a copy (if that makes sense). :-)
Hi Roger. I'm really sorry that we don't have a good workaround for you, right now! This issue is still with our QA team. I'm going to add this discussion to their report so that you can be counted, too! We'll be sure to update this thread with more information as we get it.
We don't support modifying the published output, but maybe other community members have found a way to reduce your output size. I'll happily defer to fresh ideas!
So I wonder if I were to upload a video to the web server (the same one that's hosting the SCORM activity and LMS), I could then refer to it as a web object? I'm guessing this would mean that the video would not be included in the SCORM zip file?

OK, I guess what I'm running into is the same as mentioned here...

Thanks Matthew - from the thread there, it seems like the workaround (using the slide master) didn't work?
Is this what you are referring to?
Thanks!
Roger J.
You're right Roger - using the slide master still produces multiple videos in the output
It's wishful thinking Matthew that someone will come up with a workaround ;-)
Thanks all for the input.
Matthew, can you please explain what you mean by web object and how this would help?
Thanks!
Roger J.

Thanks Matthew - I think I understand.
