Slide advance button not appearing

Aug 23, 2015

Can someone help me with the attached slide? My plan was to set it up so that forward and back arrows appeared once all four images on the screen were visited, but this isn't happening.

NB the right-hand box is blank as an image appears here depending on a variable chosen in a previous slide.

It works fine on a colleague's computer.

I am working off the desktop and have already tried reimporting the slide into a new project.

The triggers that change the state of the Next/Prev buttons to Normal are currently attached to the two buttons. I would change these two triggers to Slide triggers instead. Also, the triggers that change the pics to their Visited states are not required, 'Visited' is a built-in state that is displayed automatically when an object is clicked.

Hi Michael

How would I change the triggers on the arrows to slide triggers? Using variables in the layers instead of the states of the images? I've been advised here before not to do that.

As far as I can see they have to be object triggers as it's the objects that need to respond to the changed states of the images.

I set up the visited states as I want learners to be able to see which images they've clicked on. I'd therefore prefer not to tinker with those.

Hi Katherine,

The next/prev buttons you've set up appear for me after viewing all the layers, so that is working as expected. You mentioned the state of the image changing depending on a variable on another slide - so since this was only one slide, I wasn't able to see that change.

As for the built in states and how they'll behave, you may want to review the information here as that'll help you see what each state's behavior is.
