Slide keeps freezing once conditions are met
Nov 17, 2014
I have one slide that keeps freezing once all the conditions are met. You can't press any of the buttons on the player - not even the built-in resource button. I even re-created the slide from scratch and encountered the very same problem. This issue normally only occurs in IE. I've been able to work the class correctly when using Chrome. However, this is not a solution for all of my students.
Also, the slide previous to the one that freezes is built in the very same fashion and layout and works perfectly.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello Kristin!
Do you know which version of IE is being used? You can check the system requirements for Storyline here.
I'll definitely take a look at these requirements versus what we have on our computers. However, the same thing happens in Articulate itself when the scene is previewed.
Hello Kristin!
Would you be able to share the file here for us to take a look?
Also, when you use the reply function in the emails you receive for these posts, your email signature will show on the thread. You can edit the post to remove this. When replying to the posts, you can click on the title of the thread in the email instead of "reply" and it will not copy your signature.
Emily,
Thanks for the tip. Here is the .story for the slide that is freezing and the following slide. Please excuse the fact that it's boring - unfortunately, it's what the department wanted.
Hello Kristin!
It looks as if the Acknowledgement slide was causing issues, as it would not even show in the Preview. That slide could have been corrupted. I imported the file into a new Storyline file, as described here, and then created a new Acknowledgement slide by Copy/Paste.
The slides are working as designed now.
Emily,
I did as you suggested. Initially, in my early preview (right after I imported and copied and pasted the acknowledgement slide), it seemed to have worked. Now, I just finished up re-formatting, and it froze again.
Hello Kristin!
Did you copy the whole slide or the elements into a new slide. The way my file, attached above , was done was to import the file, then create a new acknowledgement slide all together and copy and paste the elements into it. That slide seemed to be corrupted.
You could also try the steps here
For the corrupted slide, I created a new slide and a multiple choice question. I copied over the wording of the acknowledgement on the old slide. Then I deleted the old slide.
Hello Kristin!
You can attach the file here again if you would like me to take a look. Or you could try to copy in the slide from the file I attached above.
Emily,
I just copied and pasted the slide from the above file into my .story. Unfortunately, when I went through the course, it froze in the same spot.
Hello Kristin!
I was able to do a Save as, and then import into a new file, and It is working from my end.
Attached is your file saved as a new file. If you continue to have issues, try doing a save as, then save locally, and follow the steps listed here.
If the file attached still has issues after all of this, please submit a support case for this to be further looked in to.
