I'm trying to have the "next" button OR a "Layer" show once all the layers have been "selected" The states change fine to "visited" but once all are visited the "show layer" when state of X Y Z is "visited" is not engaging the slide layer. I've tried grouping the text box and image as well as ungrouping.
Hello, Jason! If I understand correctly, it sounds like when you click the text boxes or images, a layer appears for each one. You would like a final layer to appear, or at least show the Next button once each of those layers has been visited.
I like to use "when user clicks" as my trigger action because it is an action, and it works reliably. In this case, if object X shows layer X, and so on, here's how I would set it up:
Change state of Next button to Normal when user clicks X with a condition: If the state of Y is visited AND if the state of Z is visited.
Then create that trigger for each object: X, Y and Z, with the appropriate conditions. That way, no matter which order the learner visits those layers, once all three have been clicked the Next button will display.
Let me know if it works! If not, I'm happy to have a closer look at your file. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.

I'm assuming you need to put a disable or Hidden trigger for the next button
That's right, Jason! That trigger would look something like this:
Change state of Next button to Disabled when the timeline starts on the current slide with the condition that X, Y, and Z are not Visited.
