I have a manual that I am trying to summise, it has 19 chapters and I have created layers for each of the chapters. I need to go from layer to layer in sequence automatically (when the timeline finishes). I have put in Triggers - "show next layer when the timeline finishes" on each of the layers but it doesn't seem to work. What am I not clicking or doing. A simple question but I am just learning, thanks for your help.
It just so happens that Nicole just made an awesome video and sample on how to set this up over here in regards to automatically advancing to the next slide, but you could use the same principle for your layers. You'll also want to check if you want to "hide the layer when the timeline ends" or the layers may be overlapping one another. You could also look into the layer properties to see if it's set to hide the other layers.
Hi Ashley, thank you for the answer and link to Nicole's video. My problem is a little different as I don't want to use buttons to view the layers, too much clicking for the learner when there's 19 chapters. I would like the viewer to see each layer and automatically move to the next layer without a click, like a mini movie. I guess I could turn each of the layers into it's own slide but I was hoping to keep the slides to a minimum and just layer the topic through. Is this possible?

This SHOULD work. Couple things to check, and if these don't sort it, uploading would be helpful.
Are you sure the layer triggers are set to advance to the Next layer?
Are you sure the timeline doesn't extend "far out?"
Thank you Rebecca, I ended up turning all the layers into their own slide and the automatic movement from slide to slide rather than layer to layer seems a whole lot easier. There are now a lot more slides but it doesn't really matter.
