I am such a rookie, so please bear with me. I've created a slide with multiple layers that show information when you click on a button. Works great.... but.... once you click on the button, the layer stays visible until you click a different button. Tried to set it for a 2 second duration on the timeline but it's not working. Would this be easier if I just added an object that appeared when you clicked the button rather than a layer? Thanks!
Think of storyline as physics for every action you have to have an equal reaction. If you open a layer you have to have some change or button to close it. With that said I would prob use them as objects and not layers. If you could upload your file we could take a look at it and let you know. To upload click on the paperclip and browse to the story raw story file and click upload
Oh my, I have found the magic kingdom. Thanks so much for the help AND the great sample that Bruce sent. It's working. Now I have one skill.... on to the next!

Under the Slide Layer Properties check Hide slide layer when timeline finishes
Hey Lesli!
Welcome, and remember that we were all rookies once...
Have a look at the attached - this is one way to do it.
Hope this helps, and remember that the only dumb question is the one you do not ask.
Let us know if this helps, and shout when you need to.
Once again - a warm welcome.
