Slide layers not hiding
May 27, 2016
Hi
I have an interaction with 6 layers which are initiated from buttons across the bottom. When I'm in preview, the other slide layers hide when a new button is activated. However after publishing, the slide layers and base layer pile on top of each other. I've not experienced this before and wonder if there is a bug. Any ideas? Everything works as planned in Preview.

Hi Lilian
I tested in Chrome, FF and IE and I don't see the behaviour you describe - looks fine to me...see attached video
I've found the problem. I needed to download the latest update of Storyline.
Glad that the update was able to assist you here Lilian. Thanks for popping back in with an update.
What was the problem? I'm having the same difficulty. The layers pile up on each other after publishing but only if you go back to it after bookmarking.
Hi Anneli - Do you have a .story file that you'd like us to take a look at?
The file is really big.
In the slide layers properties I have selected Hide other slide layers & hide objects...(If I don't click the hide objects, there are a few that show through even in the preview).

But below are screenshots of what happened:
When she went into your course today, on a second launch, the box comes up asking if you want to resume where you left off - she selected no, and then it takes her to the beginning. When she did that, the following slides were viewing with everything continuing to layer overtop.

Hello Anneli - Unfortunately it looks like you are replying via e-mail. This does not allow attachments or images to populate in the forum thread, but does include your signature. You are welcome to pop in and edit.
If the file is too large, you are welcome to share the slide with the issue for me to take a look.
Leslie, here is the slide in question about the layers not being hidden when you go back to the bookmark.
Thanks Anneli! I recorded a quick Peek video while going through your course (no audio). I am not seeing the behavior you are describing when testing. Am I doing the steps as expected? If not, please tell me the steps to replicate the behavior.
Thanks for that feedback Leslie. I don't seem to have that trouble either. Maybe it was something to do with the tester's computer? The controls seem to be correct, so I think we will continue as is and see if any learners experience the problem. The chances of them exiting at that early point and returning are pretty minimal, so if there is no definite solution, I think we'll still be good because it shows correctly in the first view nonetheless.
I appreciate your super quick response. :)
No worries Anneli - you know right where to find us if you need further assistance :)
