Does anyone know how to delete slidemaster slides when the delete option is greyed out? I have inherited a template which has numerous slides in the master which aren't used or 'preserved' but I am unable to delete them.
The reason why the Delete option is greyed out is because that particular layout is being used by at least one of your slides. If you hover over the individual layout slide it should tell you how many slides are using it. If any of the layout slides within a particular Master set are being used, not only will those slides be prevented from being deleted, but the Master slide itself will also have the Delete option greyed out.
If the layouts are definitely not in use, as you suggest, the Delete option should not be greyed out.
It would be great if you could just click on a layout in Master Slide view and find out which slides were using it, but unfortunately I don't think this is possible.

Thank you Ned
Is there a way to find the slide where that layout is being used? I am having a hard time with this, and thought I changed it everywhere appropriate.
