I have set up slide master with prev next buttons but i don't actually want them on every slide in my storyline - how do i remove as on the individual slides there is no option to remove them?
If you have the Next and Previous buttons on the Master itself, I would remove them, and put them instead on the layout you are using that belongs to the Master. If the buttons are only on a layout, then no need to do this step.
Next, I would duplicate that layout, and on the copy, remove those buttons. Then you can choose the layout without the buttons (and of course, you could create a layout with just a Next, one with just a Prev, etc.

In this case, you can paste multiple master slides and use them for different slides.
