I am trying to delete some slide masters in a project and the option to "delete" is disabled. I don't know why. None of them are being used in this project. How can I delete them?
You are selecting the Slide Master you wish to delete and hitting the Delete key as this tutorial explains? You are correct, you cannot delete any that are in-use, but if they are not in use I've not seen difficulty with this functionality.
Editing Masters is about the trickiest part of SL.
I find that it helps to do it immediately after starting. Click on the number of the master. WAIT for it to catch up, then right click and choose delete. I've had good luck with choosing to preserve or unpreserve a master, because then it frequently informs me that the master is not being used, and would I like to delete it, even if "Delete" is disabled in the right-click menu..
