Slide not launching in preview
Jan 31, 2017
Hi All,
I've poked around the forums and can't find a solution to this problem. When I try to preview a slide I'm building, I get the spinning launch button, but the preview never launches.
Basically, the slide is a Pick One, which will have conditions for Correct/Incorrect based on the states of a few objects and the values of some numeric entry fields. I've built slides like these many times before and never encountered the problem. I published to my LMS (Blackboard) and had the same experience. I also tried creating a new project and importing the slide into it. Any suggestions beyond this?
Thanks,
Lars
P.S. See attachment for the project.

Thanks for sharing your file here, Lars! I can also see the spinning launch icon when I try to preview the slide. I'm going to do a little digging on this one, and I'll pop back in as soon as I have more information to share!
Alright, I think I've found the culprit. Take a look at your variables - you have one variable called Cont.Capital2. Normally Storyline will not let you use periods in variable names, unless you copy/pasted the name of the variable. Just remove the period, and the slide will work as expected!
I made that change to your file and attached it here. Have a look, and let me know if it works for you!
That did the trick. Thanks!
Great! Sometimes finding something as little as a period in a variable is like finding a needle in a haystack - it's helpful to have a second pair of eyes looking at it! Always happy to assist, and be sure to reach out if you have any further questions. :)
