I built a presentation in Articulate Presenter with Engage interactions. Now I have converted the presentation to Storyline. It plays beautifully on my local computer when I publish to web, but when I email the presentation to others for review, they tell me the presenter slides have no content. I am baffeled. I need to figure this out very quickly as the presentation will be a dediding factor in continuing with Storyline.....or creating the remaining presentations in Studio.
How are you sending the preview of your course in email?
I believe it's because you're local view is accessing the files on your computer. To send it via email you have to push the published packaged files up to a web server and then send them the URL.
Kevin's exactly right. If you view published Storyline content on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
Sounds like you'll want to be publishing for CD during your testing period.
Thank you. That is helpful, but why was I able to send the studio presenter published files to others via email to review without a problem?
It is only after converting to studio that it is a problem. I will see if I have the option of sending to a web server for the client. I really appreciate your quick reply!
Or, you can try using Tempshare to upload the course, then simply send them the link that Tempshare will generate for you. Your course will be automatically removed after 10 days.
Unfortunately, nothing is working. Publishing to CD, then saving as a zip and trying to load to Tempshare not accepted. I have also published to CD and moved to another computer....same problem, no content on slides. First two and last slide show up (they were ppt slides, but the presenter/engage slide converted to Storyline do not. When I look in the published file, I can find the engage modules and click on them and they play, so they are there, but the storyline player is not finding them except when played on my local computer. There seems to be a possible problem with "loader.ini". After publsihed I get a warning message that a file is using the parent file and it could be dangerous and override some system files. I am at a stand still. Is something happening during the publishing process?
Is the .story file something you can share publicly in this thread so I can have a look? If not, you can send it to us privately here, and we'll be able to test it out on our end and get you up and running.

Sorry for the trouble, Cheri.
