I have a course with a number of sliders used for yes/no questions.
In SL2 I built it to have only two settings: yes or no, but to start in the middle. I did this by making a slider starting at "0", ending at "2", with an initial state of "1", with a step of "2". It worked perfectly.
Now, after switching to SL3, the initial value is not respected anymore, and the slider starts at "2" when the course loads.
Are you seeing this on only updated files from Storyline 2 to Storyline 3 or have you seen this on any sliders you're creating in Storyline 3? Are you able to share a copy of the .story file with us here?

Try adding a slide trigger for each slider that explicitly sets the initial value of the slider variable to 1.
I have tried that. Doesn't work either.
