Slider not working
Dec 05, 2016
Hi there,
I have a slider interaction that works fine when I test it in Storyline but doesn't work at all when published.
I have opened the the HTML5 file and it doesn't work.
I have also inserted it into the LMS and tested it after reading that all testing should be done in the site where they will be viewd and it still doesn't work.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Regards
Simone

P.S I am using firefox and have made many slider interatctions that work fine in my LMS
Hi Simone
HTML5 output isn't supported with FF - try testing in Chrome

My latest one doesn't work in the LMS either. LMS opens with FF. All previous sliders have worked.
Hi Jenny
have you tried testing in Scormcloud and see if it works for you there.
...not sure how to do that?
Hi Jenny
go to www.scormcloud.com and create an account. Then upload your zipped LMS package and launch it.
Scormcloud is the industry standard LMS so if it doesn't work there you would look at the SL setup and if it does work there you would look at your LMS settings.
Just a way to try and isolate where the issue is.
if you don't want to go through it I'm happy to do for you...just upload your story file using the 'add attachment' button at the bottom of the post.
Hi Jenny,
This article will also walk you through the steps to test your content at SCORM Cloud. In addition to Wendy's offer, staff here in the Community forums can also test it if you upload here. If you'd prefer to share it privately you can also send a long to our Support Engineers using the link here and they'll be able to test it as well.
Hi Ashley and Wendy
I've been working on a remote connection (Citrix) to the LMS and it
seems that some functions like the slider and oddly the video player
seek bar (which disappears completely) do not work through the remote
connection (no idea why as everything else is OK).
When I go to the LMS without a remote connection it all functions well.
Frustrating!
Thanks for the reply and offer of help :)
Jenny
Hi Ashley
Actually the slider is not working in TempShare either.
I'll upload to the Support Engineers...

Thanks Jenny - if you've submitted the support case please let me know the case number and I'll follow along as well!
Keen to hear the result of this as we are having the same issues using Chrome (working out of Litmos LMS). Already have clients telling us that the sliders are not working which is not a great look. I don't believe this is unique to projects but a symptom of an upgrade to the browser or through Storyline or both.
Sorry, just realised these posts are from several months ago. We are having issues with sliders working on IE but not on Chrome. Is this a known issue for Articulate?
HI Ray,
I can see that you’re still struggling with the sliders in Chrome since you reached out here and in this other discussion. We’d love to help.
Can you take a look at the questions asked in the other discussion? We can keep the conversation going over there!
I'm having same problem. Sliders are not working when testing in the SCORM Cloud. They work fine if I test in Articulate Tempshare. Works fine in Chrome too. But when I upload the SCORM package to the SCORM Cloud, the slider interactions do not work.
What gives? Any answers as to why?
BTW, I tested courses in SCORM Cloud in Internet Explorer and the sliders work. But they don't work in Chrome in the SCORM Cloud test.
Hi Laura,
What version of Storyline are you using? I took a look at some of the previous cases here, and I didn't see it noted as a bug but an issue within the specific file. If you want to share the copy of the .story file with us we're happy to take a look.
I have the same problem. The sliders work fine in preview, but after publishing they are dead. It's the same on my LMS or scorm cloud. I'm using Storyline 2.
I just tried it on scorm cloud with Safari and that works. So it looks like a conflict between Chrome and Storyline 2.
Hi Mark,
This could be more of a HTML5 issue, since Chrome is blocking Flash content.
Do you have a sample file you wouldn't mind sharing with me? I'd like to give it a test on my end. You can attach it right here--thanks!
Thanks! I believe thats the case. I converted to Storyline 3 and sliders are working fine now.

Thanks Laura for that update and glad you'll be able to use Storyline 3!
