Sliders (and image!) not appearing in Safari

Bit of a weird one, I have a slide in my course with 3 images and 3 sliders. When running the course on LMS or a link in *Safari*, the sliders are not showing on this slide and nor is one of the images.
Sliders are used elsewhere in the course and appear as normal. This slide also *runs fine in chrome*, so it's nothing to do with animations or timings or anything. I could understand it more if it was just the three sliders that aren't appearing but think it is strange that one of the images also isn't appearing.
Built in SL360.
Any ideas?
Many thanks in advance

That is a weird one, Emma! I haven't seen a similar problem mentioned in the forums before, so I'm glad you brought this up. Could you share that slide in a new thread comment? I'd like to publish it and test it in a few different environments. Thanks!
Hi Alyssa,
I've isolated the slide in a new storyline file for you here.
Thanks
Emma
It seems to be behaving normally if I publish this standalone slide. I wonder if it just needs re-building in my original storyline file?
Interesting find Emma. What if you import all of the slides, including this one, into a new file? Does it work as expected then? Perhaps it's limited to the one project file.
Almost but not quite. Now all of the sliders appear and the images but one of the text boxes is missing ... so strange
Again, it appears and works fine in chrome but is behaving strangely in safari
Ok so it turns out a large number of slides are not displaying correctly in safari. Sometimes images and text boxes aren't appearing, or are appearing and then disappearing part way through a slide. The exact same published files are running correctly on our LMS when viewed in chrome
Just an update on this - i've imported all of the slides into a new storyline project and uploaded onto moodle. Again, everything appears as it should in chrome but some images and text are not appearing in safari. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it however - I have a number of test user accounts and sometimes when I visit the course it is not displaying a couple of images/text boxes/sliders properly, then other times it's not displaying a *large* number of images/text boxes/sliders properly. Any ideas?
Hi Emma!
Thanks for keeping us up-to-date.
It looks like you've reached out to our support team as well.
I'm going to take a quick peek of your file to see if I am able to assist, but either way you should be hearing from someone soon.
Thanks Leslie. It will be good to get to the heart of the issue which hopefully the support team can assist with but in the meantime I seem to have found a temporary work around which may help others in a similar position.
The issue seems to be with items (text boxes/images/sliders) which are static on the slide. I've added a fade transition on them and set this to the smallest possible transition duration (0.10) and it seems to prompt the items into action on the slide (in safari browser) and you can barely notice the transition because it is so quick.
Thanks again Emma - I'll add this note to your case as well :)
Any update on this issue? I just published out a presentation using Storyline 3 and it has several videos in it. I've overlaid the videos with a small text box that identifies the speaker. Strangely, two of the text boxes (both for the same speaker but on separate videos!) do not appear but only on a Safari browser! They do display on Chrome and Firefox.
Oh, and even stranger - the text boxes DO display in Safari on an iPhone, just not on a Macbook Pro!
Hey Miriam,
I took a look at the case we worked with Emma on and it seems we were unable to replicate the issue and she was able to correct it on her own.
So, I'd like to start anew with you here.
Would you be able to share your .story file for us to take a look at what you are experiencing? If you cannot share here in the forums, you are welcome to share here privately.
Thank you Leslie - I will send it privately now.

Hi Leslie - Anna looked at the file but she was analyzing the behavior of the wrong text boxes. I wrote her back right away but haven’t heard anything. I would really love to hear what you all can come up with on this mystery.
Thanks!
Miriam

Oh no Miriam, I'm glad you reached out.
I do not see where we received a reply from you. I just took a look at your file and replied as well, so we will certainly continue to help you out with this mystery :)
Did you receive my email reply, Leslie? Or should I answer here? The problem was with Text box #2 which is on top of a video (it identifies the speaker) and is set to display at the start of the timeline on slides 3.2 and 3.5. When published out for web, it displays on the Google Chrome and Firefox browsers but there's a problem with Safari. With Safari it displays on an iPhone but not on a Mac laptop or desktop. Strangely, a similar text box/video combination that I have for slide 3.4 works fine on all browsers.
thanks!
Miriam
Hey Miriam,
We did get your replies! We experienced an issue with how support cases’ replies were being routed, and that caused our team to not see some customer replies. This has been fixed, and our team is looking into steps to prevent this type of error in the future.
I’m really sorry this happened. It’s not our usual standard. I did share your latest reply in your support case as well.
Thanks for sharing what you are seeing.
I shared a published link with you of the two problematic slides and those items display in Safari on Mac for me. Did you run into an issue with my link as well?
Hi Leslie -
No I did not run into an issue with your published link, but it also looks like you used quite different publish settings and other settings than I did so I wonder if that might have had something to do with it (e.g., I had the file set to a 16:9 format and showed the progress bar at the bottom and used a custom layout so there was no menu on the left).
Were you not able to reproduce what I was seeing? If not, I have a link you can use so you can see how it is acting from the web using Safari. When the first slide ends, select the second (middle) button that is displayed and that will take you directly to the section involved. The first slide in that section will illustrate that the text boxes on other videos/slides show up. The second and fifth slides in that section are the ones I am having trouble with, and on those, the instructor's name does not show up.

I've written an email with the details - please let me know if you do not receive it.
thanks again
