Slides browsing freezes
Jan 02, 2013
Hi all,
first of all excuse me for my bad English (I'm from Italy).
My course has 23 slides in a linear sequence (slide 1 / click next / slide 2 / click next / slide 3 / ...).
Every slide is a .swf (AS3, 30fps).
I imported .swf as video. Seekbar works fine but browsing through PREV/NEXT buttons and menu always freezes when I switch my slides quickly (less than 1 second). Player freezes and I can't recover my navigation.
Sometimes slides switching is ok but the audio of previous slide remains active overlapping with the new one.
I tried to import .swf as flash and all those problems disappear but seekbar, play/pause and volume doesn't work anymore.
Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance to everyone and Happy 2013.

Try exporting the .swf files as Flash 10 and AS3.
Hope it helps!
Hi Pablo,
thank you for idea but it doesn't work. Even with Flash10-AS3 if I switch fast from one slide to other it freezes at third, fourth try.
Maybe the videos are a little bit heavy, or maybe they are not stopping when you switch slides like they should do. audio from videos superpose when you switch between them fast?
Videos are not so heavy (300-400kb). Yes, it seems like they are not stopping correctly when I switch.
At 3th/4th switch presentation freezes. Sometimes it goes on but audio superspose with the previous ones.
the only solution i can think of is: hide the next/prev buttons and add 2 buttons to the slide; one for next, the other one for previous. you can then move this buttons on the timeline to appear after 2 seconds, that way you avoid fast switching between slides. im sorry i dont know another way to solve your problem.
Sorry for my english im from Argentina, Hope it helps!
or you could try adding 2 triggers--> media stop (select video) when: user clicks: Next Button
and media stop (select video) when: user clicks: Previous Button
Thanks a lot, Pablo. To make my own playbar seems to be the best workaround.
Only problem is that I've designed animations and my layout doesn't contain space for those buttons...
Thanks again.
Yes, i always keep in mind that there might be changes so i dont stick with a design or layout when working with videos. im sorry i wasnt able to give you a better solution, maybe somebody else can. Well, at least next time you will be prepared!
Good luck
