Slides on tablets move around on screen

Oct 19, 2017

I wondered if anyone could provide some advice or answers to the use of sl360 published content on mobile devices, android and ios.

We have a module which is used as an interactive simulation using sliders. What has been noticed is when you swipe along the screen to move a slider or object the player screen moves left or right within the frame of the device screen. The module slides are not locked in position.

These are the settings I currently have for this particular published course

Story Size w1000 x h750

No player tabs / player buttons

Browser size: resize Browser to optimal size

Player Size: Scale player to fill browser window

The course is published HTML/Flash fall back.

Is this a common thing to occur when the learner is using a mobile device and the screen can have some left and right movement when swiped/interacted with?

Or have I got my settings all wrong?

Thank in advance for your help.

Hi Adam.  Since you're using Storyline 360, your courses will display the responsive player on mobile devices.  The story size, browser size, and player size settings won't apply in this environment because the player automatically adjusts to the device's size and orientation.

Gestures are supported in the responsive player, so swiping might be enabled to navigate the course.  Is the slider tab large enough so that you can easily touch and drag it?  If swiping is enabled, you could inadvertently grab the slide to swipe, rather than dragging the slider.

If you'd like to share your project here, I'm happy to have a look!

Hi Crystal

Thanks for you response.

I have disabled the swipe function as the screens progress from triggers and next buttons we have built.

The slider (a from right to left slide) I would say is a good size, almost runs full length of screen horizontally.

Due to the content of the course I can not currently share on a public forum.
