When I first started in elearning development, I used a product called Knowledge Presenter. Even way back then (15+ years ago) they had start and end properties for objects. So you could say it started at position x,y and was size w,h, then it ended at position x2,y2 and was size w2,h2. Objects could appear on screen, and smoothly transform to a different size, rotation, and/or position.
I would love to see something similar in Storyline. The options of using object states or multiple objects with a mix of entry/exit animations is convoluted to set up and results in a jerky transformation and a cluttered timeline.
