Some new software (?) installed interfers with completion

May 05, 2014

I've had a lot of software updates to my computer since I've last had to do any SCORM testing.  Now, I can't get any course to complete - including our own internal compulsory education.  This interferes with my ability to test my courses.  Rather than having to de-install, test and re-install all the updates, I thought I'd throw it out to the community first.  Has anyone found that specific software also installed on your computer interferes with a course moving to completion?  At least then I could see if I had that software and save myself and our IT team a pile of time.

Thanks!!

Hi Dorothy,

I'm not aware of any software that would interfere with the completion of a course. Were any changes made to your web browser(s)?

Your access to the course is really the only thing that comes to mind when it comes to actually completing a course that's being hosted on a server. It might help to check your web browser(s) to make sure you're running a supported version

Are you able to share access to a course that's being hosted by your LMS or server? We could take a look and see if it's possible to complete externally. If that's not possible, perhaps a colleague in your office or your IT team could attempt to do the same and see if ther are any issues.

Thanks!

Thanks for your rapid response.  I have had colleagues try the same courses in SCORM cloud and it moves them to completion so it's something specific to my computer.  My colleagues have the same browser versions, along with other standard software.  I have some programs that others don't - which is why we were wondering if it was an add-on or update to those programs that may be the culprit.  If no one else has had a similar issue, I guess, I'll need to systematically work through my software to see if that's what's going on.  I will let you know if I find something.
