Some problems with a video
May 03, 2019
Hello all,
maybe someone of you can help me.
I have some problems with an animation. I want to change the storyline into a video. I know how to do this, but I don't know, why the different Basis are not shown.
Normally a red/white space with words should be shown but this doesn't happen.
Does anybody know what I did wrong?
Thanks in advance for your help!!

Hi Katrin,
your timeline of the baselayer is too short. Drag it to the duration of the whole activity and it works see attached video. :) I don´t know why only the first layer extends the time and is shown, maybe a bug, maybe the behavior how it should work.

Susi
Hi Katrin,
At first I thought the Publish to Video may be having a problem with the different layers and so I converted your slide to just a single layer. However, when I now publish this version, all of the motion path changes occur at once and so the video still doesn't work properly. I suspect the problem is with the motion paths and I am not sure if this is a known issue when publishing to video, but hopefully a member of staff or another community member may be able to answer that.
In the meantime, I have attached my version of your slide in case you may find it useful. It only has one motion path which is set to Relative Start Point so that every time it is activated, it moves your group of quotes a set distance to the left based on their current position. Having removed all of the other layers, I have set your characters up as different states of the original character and simply changed the state when the quotes move on the motion path. If you can't follow what I have done or have a query, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Hi Ned,
many Thanks for your help, Ned. I am a new Storyline User, so I am not so fit in this things but I got it now, how to do this.
Now I can go on with my presentation - this is great.
