Sound Equalizer or anything similar?

Oct 27, 2017

Hello Everyone!

I was wondering if there's anything like this that could help us with the volume on our courses. We have courses that we record with multiple users and some sound too loud or too low. We were wondering if Storyline had some feature that could "equalize" the audio for all slides in one presentation or if we had to do it individually for each slide. We have very long courses so we were wondering if there was an easier/faster way to do this.

Thank you very much!

I'm not sure if Storyline has a feature for this, I haven't seen one. I do feel that it is a good practice to normalize audio in all media before using them anywhere. This will definitely prevent the problem that your having. Are you using any video/audio editing software currently? Most modern programs should have this capability.

Hi Patty,

Storyline 360 has a feature that'll help you out for audio. You can see the Optimize Audio Volume option detailed here.

It's designed to assist in balancing volume across your course as you can see in our documentation:

  • Mark the Optimize Audio Volume box to normalize audio throughout your course for consistent volume across all slides.

Tip: If your course audio already has consistent volume, you can speed up the publishing process by unchecking this option.

It'll depend on if you are looking for Storyline 360 (as it's a part of the entire Articulate 360 annual subscription) or Storyline 3 standalone. Both of them offer loyalty discounts - so a few different options to go through.

Talking (or live chatting) with our Sales team is the best route - and not to worry, asking the questions doesn't commit you to anything. We want to be sure we get the right tools into your hands!
