I´ve imporded a mp3 soundfile. I can see it on tje timeline ,its look ok and I can hear it in the audioeditor, BUT when I prewiev the slide I cant har a thing! What´s wrong? PS The volym is ok. And I can see the litte icon for sound jon the slide. Please help me!
Tanja: Sounds a bit odd. Have you tried inserting a different audio file format, say a .wav file? Just to see if that will help troubleshooting the issue? Also, could you take a screenshot of the slide and timeline and insert it here, so we can better see what's going on? The little + sign above will let you insert a picture. --Daniel
thank you! I now tried to convert the file to a wav , but its the same...I can hear the sound in the audioeditor and i can see the file( see pictures) but i can´t hear a sound:-((
I cant see any +-sign...trying to insert an image here...Tnah you again, Hope you can helpo me! image
I can't see if you have any triggers added to this audio file, or if you're wanting the audio to play with the timeline. Are you able to share the .STORY file here, so we can take a look? Or can you provide a screenshot of the entire slide? Select the audio on the slide so we can see the triggers assigned to it, if any, please.
Hello. No, there's no triggers. Now it suddenly appeared a message on the screen...and suddenly i cant record from the mic either. So; probably something wrong...any idea what to do about it?? in the program.:-((
Afraid I can't read the extension for that error message, looks like it's in German? Maybe?
First thing I would do is make sure you're working with a local project file.
Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.
Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.
If that doesn't help, you may want to try a quick repair:
Yes, thank you very much! I did see it and i tried the quick repair but it´s still not working. So, i will try again and look for another solution . And I did move a storyline (slides) project with an usb to this computer when the problem appeared, and probably I did move it directly from the usb to articulate, but there wasn´t any soundfile in the project then! I put the soundfile on my computer/ drive first. Tried to change the name to a short one.....but now i cant import ANY soundfile ..not even the "examplesound" fróm the computer;-(( so channging the name doesn´t help me any more( But I will remeber that to another time).
So if you have any further suggestions, please let med know as soon as possible. Lucky I´ve got the program on my computer at work too, so i will be able to insert the audiofile there. //Thanks //TANJA

tanja:
I'd suggest submitting a case. http://www.articulate.com/support/contact/submit.php
My guess is that it as something to do with your machine(s). Articulate Support is quite helpful.
Hi Tanja,
Thanks for getting back to me! That does sound strange. If it's working on your other machine, sounds like it may be system-specific.
If you get a chance, please follow the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article:
