Spaces in SCORM ZIP Files

Apr 20, 2018

Hi,

Using Plateau/Success Factor LMS, and it seems that it will not accept SCORM filenames that have spaces in them.  It also seems that the SCORM filenames output from SL2 are taken from the title of the story.

So that leaves me with an ugly choice.  I can have cryptic or ugly titles which appear in the header of the presentation, or I am unable to load my program into my LMS.

Any answers?  I saw a discussion from about two years ago on this board, and no real resolution at that time.  Please help!

Hello Joseph!

I am not certain that this will work, but one thing you may try is using an ACSII code character between each word.  A little cumbersome to enter, but SCORM may let you get away with this.

To make an Alt code or character you must use the numerical keypad on your computer. Make sure that Num Lock (Number Lock) is on. Hold down the Alt key on your keyboard, type in the code you wish to produce, and release Alt.

In this case, type the first word of your title, then hold down the Alt key and enter 255 on the number pad, then release the Alt.  This will show what appears to be a space, but should technically be a character.  If the 255 doesn't work, try Alt+0160.

If for some reason, neither of the codes work, I would suggest using an underline ( _ ) between each word.
