Special characters in Question Form entries
Jun 07, 2017
Hi everyone,
Here's what I noticed when building a question in SL2 :
Let's take a Multiple Choice question.
Whenever my responses start with a special character, like '%' or '$', the LMS will not be able to retrieve the data in the SCORM Report (it says : learner_response = undefined, same for correct_response / see SCORMCloud screenshot in attachments)
This only happens when the character is placed at the beginning of the string. If I move it to another place, everything works just fine.
So, are there any restrictions regarding this point? Maybe SCORM doesn't allow special characters at the beginning of the strings?
My sample project is attached.
Any thoughts will be much appreciated :) Thanks all
Guillaume

The screenshot didn't upload in the first post, here it is.
Hi Guillaume,
Thanks so much for letting us know what's going on in your file. We've got an issue on our radar for Storyline 2 where question slides that have answer choices with special characters (example: $, /, -) are reported as "undefined", and it sounds like that is what's happening in your file.
We're working through this issue, and I'll tag this thread to be updated as soon as we get more information. Thanks again, and I'm sorry this is slowing you down!
Hi Alyssa,
Thank you for your reply. Glad to hear this is going to be fixed. Looking forward to the update.
