Seekbar tempo on videos with Record Screen
Dec 16, 2016
Hi guys
I have a question to the seekbar on videos with Record Screen. I have produced a video with multiply slides and set seekbar on every slide to be able to start/stop and go forward/backward in the video.
The result is a very distracting display of the video, where the seekbar in running fast in the bottom of the screen - the seekbar is running from start of every slide.
My question, is it possible somehow only to have one seekbar run through on e.g. 20 slides, so the tempo can be much slower?

Hi Johnny
just to understand - you have recorded a screen as a video (1 slide) or in try, view or test mode (multiple slides)?
I have recorded a video with multiple slides in step-by-step view mode.
Then each slide will have it's own seekbar and this cannot be consolidated as a 'progress bar' over the 20 slides.
As your recording is view mode, you could insert it as a video on one slide and the seekbar could be used to control the video

But then it is not possible to have add text captions and mouse curser automatically set in the video, right?
Hi again
Is it possible somehow to have the start/stop and revind buttons, without having the seekbar slide running to avoid the distraction? If not, can it be made manually - I believe someone else must have had the same problem?
Hi Johnny,
There isn't a way to remove the seekbar but keep the play/pause buttons as a part of the Storyline player. You could look at using the read only seekbar which you can enable as a part of the player set up.
If you use Wendy's suggestion of a video on a single slide, you can't add the captions or interactions to the video - those will only appear on a screen recording used in step by step mode.
We've seen a number of community generated examples of custom progress or seekbars, so you may want to look at some of the ideas shared here:
Hope that helps!
