Thank you for replying to me. As I said NOT ALL l objects have timing... rectangles (or shapes in general) and audio/video have timing. But, icons do not have as you can see from the previous print screen.
I use the last version of storyline I think v3.44 build 23192.0 ... Are there any newer versions that what I use?
As far as I can tell, you are using the latest version of SL360. I have also tried out the timing with an icon and it works just like the other shapes, giving me full access to adjust timing, so I can't understand why you are having a problem. I will keep investigating and if I come up with anything, I will let you know.
I think your problem revolves around grouping. If you create a shape or icon by grouping a series of different shapes, you cannot set the timing for the group. What you have to do is to expand the group in the timeline and adjust the timing for the individual components.
This may seem to be a bit of a pain, but what it does give you is the opportunity to create basic animation within your "icons" by turning individual components on and off at different times in a similar way to using different states.
Thank you for getting back to me ... I see that you are correct... Also, I have done further investigation and found that icons that do not have freeform, there are timing, while icons that have freefrom do not have timing (but when you expand the group... yes, we can have timing for each freeform). I have attached the print screen.

Hi Amelie,
Which version of SL are you using? I use SL360 and have full control of timing for every component on the slide, not just audio/video.
