State change on object persists for all slides.

Hello,

-I have a slide where the user selects one character out of six available.

-Clicking on the character will set the 'character_select' variable to number corresponding to the character they selected.

-Now on all slides throughout the course, I have a 'character' object with a different state for each character. I can't find an easy way to have the 'character' object go to the correct state based on what character was selected. Is the only way to make several triggers on every slide that adjust the state of the object based on the character variable?

I've included the .story file for you to review. I would prefer to find a way where I don't have to put multiple triggers on every slide to change the state of the character.
