State Change Trigger not working for text boxes

Hi all,

I have created triggers to change the state of text boxes to viewed when their related buttons' state is viewed*. Each of the buttons in question takes you to a new slide, which allows you to return to the original page once you've looked around. 

If I preview just the slide with the triggers, it works and the text boxes change state when you click their associated button. However, if I preview the whole presentation, the state of the text boxes doesn't change. 

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to go about this a different way? The broken chunk of my project is attached.
