State issues

Hi Elaine. For the first issue you will need to explicitly add a trigger to change the state to hover when the mouse is hovered over each. For the second issue I can't replicate it. When I preview and click on each of the buttons, animated text flies for each button.

I am having trouble clicking to open the first slide from the story view — just won't display in the slide panel and open to edit.

2nd slide.  When I click each button I get the text to display, is this what you mean by the click state?  see attached screenshot.

Thanks for the heads up on the hover. I thought since it was a built in state, the hover would work without another trigger.

For the second, could it be my software has glitch?

Yes, that is exactly what I want to happen. Not happening on my computer. Any suggestions?

Hi Elaine,

For the five icons, the first three show me the green glow after the click - the last two don't. Everything works as normal with the hover state on those ones, I hover and I see blue - I click, I see the text, and if I hover again I see blue.  You don't need a trigger to invoke a hover state as mentioned here. 

The second slide also looks normal - I hover and when I click, the text flies in from the right, and I can continue to hover and see the blue. 

Since it seems like the behavior is odd and not consistent, I'd want to make sure that you're working on project files locally, and if the behavior persists in this file you may want to try importing into a new Storyline file. 

Thanks, Ashley. Yes, I am working locally but both myself and my colleague had the same results. You had the correct results. We do need to update to the latest version but that states should work.

I don't believe I had done the update to Update 7 of Storyline 1 yet when I tested that. Can you try importing it into a new file and see if that helps resolve some of the odd behavior?

I can do that but we are running SL 1 update 4. We hope to get IT to update us soon.
