I need some help. I am trying to lock the topics on the menu slide. I have set up states for the buttons for each topic. I have set the initial state to disable. I have also set a trigger to change the state of the next topic from disable to normal when the vairable, endof module changes from False to true. However i cant seem to get this working on storyline 3. Please help!
I'm guessing that on your menu slide, you use the When variable xyz changes option in your change state triggers. This option is limited to the slide where the change actually happens (in your case that's the last slide in a section). You need to change your triggers to change state of object abc to Normal WHEN TIMELINE STARTS if variable xyz equals true.
i actually tried to use variables as well. That when the user has viewed the last slide of each module, the variable changes to true and hence the state of the topic menu from disabled to normal.
Yes i have understood Wendy's solution and have applied it. It now works as it should.
The problem i am facing now is the selected state on the button. I have set the selected state on each numbered button to have a small green tick appear next to it when user clicks.
However, the green tick appears on when i first click on the button and disappears when i go through the entire module and return to menu page.
I would add the green tick on a custom 'completed' state with a trigger to change state when the timeline starts with condition the endModule variable = true which is will be as it is unlocking the next section.
So move the green tick from selected state to completed state - that's my 2 cents.

Hi Michael
thank you for your reply.

this is also not working for me.
Would you happen to know what might be the cause?
thank you

Can you share your .story file here so that someone can have a closer look?
Hi Michael,\\I have attached the storyline file here. Its only the partial course.
Try changing the trigger on the menu slide to 'when timeline starts' instead of 'when variable changes'
This unlocks the second topic -
I can do that and I works only for the timeline starts for menu slide not the last slide of topic one
Sorry I don't understand what you mean.
Hi Kiran,
I'm not clear on what your question is and wanted to make sure that you understood Wendy's explanation.
I've applied it in your file and re-attached here for you to take a look.
Please let us know the steps to replicate what you're describing.
Hi Wendy and Leslie
Thank you for your replies :)

Not sure what the issue is here.
Please advise
Thank You

Thank you so much Wendy! It works beautifully now :)
Glad that helped Kiran - all the best with your project :-)
