I just saw your post as I entered the chat room to look for something about Storyline. I can tell there a half-dozen or more of us Studio and Storyline users in several agencies in Pennsylvania state government. We are making an effort to get a user-group started.
Who do you work for, and what would you like to know?
I am with a state agency in Texas. We have been using Storyline for a few years now and we always provide an accessible version of the modules we develop, but we are really wanting to move toward making our modules themselves accessible from the very beginning. Examples are here: http://www.dars.state.tx.us/ecis/providers/providertraining.shtml. Since state agencies are required to be 508 compliant and our Accessibility office really pushes for WCAG 2.0 compliance, I was wanting to see other state products that have maybe started developing from the beginning with accessibility in mind. Someone new to our leadership team uses a screen reader and I am wanting to test out perhaps an already developed module with the screen reader to better understand how a module comes out for someone with a visual impairment.
If you start a user-group, Texas would love to join! Thanks!
I don't have the expertise with 508 compliance that you are seeking, but I will forward your reply to a few others who may be much more expert and willing to advise you.
I work for a local government in Illinois and would love to join a group if you start one. We are just starting to develop training modules for staff and could use help!!
I just received a note from Frank, passing on your inquiry regarding Compliance. I stumbled on a website (WebAIM.org) which may have information to assist you. I've just skimmed through some of the content, but looks like a great beginning - especially with Screen Readers. Good Luck!
