States

Aug 15, 2013

Hi

'm not sure if this is a new issue since I downloaded storyline update 3, but I don't seem to be able to copy states anymore.  When I click on the duplicate button, it simply launches an add new dialogue box.  This is annoying when creating menus with multiple graphical items and wanting to create visited states 9for example) which are the same on each menu item.

Any ideas?

Hi Robin,

Welcome to the forums.

When you click duplicate an 'add new'  message box will appear to ask you to name the new state. Once you've done this the state will be created with a duplicate of the first state. This is a bit counter intuitive but it should work.

If this doesn't help you could try an SL repair

Hope this helps

Hi Harri,

Quick response - thanks.

I want to be able to create a visited state on one object on screen and then copy it to similar objects on screen, but the copy function is giving me an 'add new' dialogue box rather than simply copying the visited state and allowing me to apply it to other objects on the screen.

 Is this clearer?

Thanks for your help
