States and Quizing bug?
Nov 10, 2017
Hello, I'm currently working on a simple quiz and I've run into an issue. I have a selected state for each choice that moves the object over to the right and turns it green. When I go into the quiz's "Form View" and select my choices, it deletes and replaces all of my states with a default selected state. Once I have all of the choices replaced with the default state, then I can edit each state how I like, but I don't really know why this is a feature. Please let me know if there is a way to remove this feature or if anyone else is having this issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there, Wes. Thanks for sharing your course. I tested your file in Storyline 360, and I also tested a new file in Storyline 2 for comparison.
I'm seeing the same behavior. I'm not quite sure if the expected behavior is that once something is designated as an answer choice, Storyline "creates" a selected state for that object. I also noticed that on objects where I used the format painter to add my selected state, my selected states were deleted. The original object that I edited retained part of the formats of my selected state. So it's at least inconsistent.
I'm going to consult my team so that I can let you know what's the best practice here. For now, my only recommendation would be to designate answer choices first, and then build the selected state.
Hi,
I'm curious to know if a remedy was ever found for this? I'm experiencing the same issue. Thanks!
Hi Jeff,
I'd recommend editing the states after you set up a question, or building a custom state that you can apply as the selected after the question is set up. Storyline will default to using the built-in selected state when you create it as a question.
