States of buttons are not working properly while dragging the seekbar

Apr 02, 2020

Hi there,

I am using the latest version of storyline 360 version 38 and i am facing the issues related to the states of the buttons are not working properly when i drag the seekbar.

Issue to replicate:

Go to slide 1.4 MMCQ

You can check that the state of Submit button and Next button is hidden while the timeline starts.

Click on the seekbar

Both get appear.

Same issue was there in 37 version too. I have checked the same using version 34 and it was not there.

Could you please check this urgently. I have to deliver multiple modules in different language to the client this week.

I have attached the story file for reference.

Hi Ritesh,

To get round this problem, what you need to do is to use Initial States for your Submit and Next buttons and not set them to Hidden when the timeline starts for the slide.

1.  Delete the triggers to set Next and Submit buttons to Hidden state when timeline starts:

2.  Set the Initial State for the Submit and Next buttons to Hidden (select the button, click on States at the bottom left of the screen and then select Hidden from the Initial State drop-down menu):

Once you have done this, your slide should work correctly and the buttons will not appear when you click on the seekbar.

Thanks Ned. But i know the solution. The problem here is - this issue was not appearing when i was using version 34 but it is there in v37 and v38. I did nothing today but downgrading my storyline 360 from 38 to 34 and the same is working fine.

There should be some problem in the new updates and in the modern player seek bar.

Hi Ritesh,

Thank you for letting us know!

I appreciate the extra details here, and I was able to recreate this behavior in a new file. I am adding your comments to our open report, that way we can provide an update as soon as we have more to share!

In the meantime, reverting to version 34 will help or following Ned's tips (thank you, Ned!) will also resolve the problem.

Please let us know if you have any questions!

Hi, Ritesh.

I have great news to share!

We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 63, we’ve included important fixes and new features.

One of the fixes we’ve included is:

Dragging the seekbar displayed objects on the slide even when they should've been hidden.

To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
