When each image is clicked, it should show a state with it's own pop up, and then gray the image out after it has been clicked. But the user should be able to go back and click on each image if they want, even if it is grayed out.
What is the best way to do this? I have a feeling this is going to be a lot of states and triggers.
This doesn't have to be complicated. See a quick example here with three images. Each of the images has a Visited state that shows the image greyed (in my example I just turned down the brightness). This state is displays automatically when the image is clicked ( not extra triggers needed) Then, each of the images has just one trigger that shows a layer with more information. The layers in turn have each a Close button with one simple trigger that hided the layer.
Your original post said "When each image is clicked, it should show a state with it's own pop up, and then gray the image out after it has been clicked". Actually, the instructions in the PPT say 'roll over', not clicked. Is this what you want?

Hi Melissa! Looks like Michael is taking care of you here, just let us know how that suggestion works and if you need anything further.
It grays the image out as soon as it is clicked, which is not what the client wants.
Please see the attached the power point for a better idea.

My apologies Michael, you are correct. I was sent the PPT later, and they changed it to the roll over.
Yes that is what I would like to do. But I noticed the images don't always change after being rolled over.
So how did you do the hover?
