Stats on checkbox between scenes
Jul 22, 2015
I have build a meny slide in "Scene 1" whith pictures, when you click on a picture you jump to a new scene "chapter 1" first slide. Whene you have come to the last page (slide) in this "chapter 1" I have insert a marker "Back to meny". When you click on this marker you jump back to the meny in "Scene 1" now i want to change the states in a checkbox to "selected" so the student know that chapter is finished. The questien is, if you can change stats on checkboxes between different scen or must everything be in the same scene?

Yes, you can use variables to change the state of an object, e.g. checkbox from anywhere in your project, incl. another scene.
Can you give me an exampel on this variables between scene, plz. I would be realy grateful.
Here is one example with a menu and seven scenes. The menu in my example has buttons, they could also be checkboxes. At the last slide of each scene, I set a variable from False to True and then jump back to the menu. Based on the variable values, I set the menu buttons to a completed state. Hope that helps.
Hi Mikael! Looks like you are getting some great assistance from Michael here :)
Thanks a lot Michael. You have made my day.
Hi Mikael, glad I could help. Good luck with your project!
I'm sorry, I must ask you something more. I have done a copy of your solution on "stats on checkbox" in Articulate Storyline", I don't have the newer version Storyline 2. I have make all slides, variables, states on buttons and triggers exactly like your solution. But I must have adjust something then all Topics buttons are in states "Visited" directly from beginning when I test the program in preview? Everything working in your example. Maybe its depend on version Storyline 2 contra the older version Storyline or do you have some another ide? I'm cannot understand how Button 1 to 7 can be visited before you have start the timeline in every Topic slide 3? Is there some generally adjustment I have failed? I have tried to find a solution hole weekend without success :). But I have learn a lot this weekend about variables and settings, that's is rely interesting.
