I have published a course in Scorm 1.2 and I have used the option Report to LMS as: Completed/Incomplete. When I'm viewing the course in LMS, after the course completion it is not showing either completed or incomplete. I'm viewing each and every slide. I'm tracking using the number slides viewed e.g. 50 slides out of 50. It doesn't have quiz at the ending. I even tested tracking the result slide. But, it's showing the status. What would be the reason?
Thank you for reaching out! I am sorry that you are running into this roadblock here.
We typically recommend choosing Passed/Incomplete or Passed/Failed when sending tracking/reporting data to your LMS. These options are most likely to record both completion and success statuses in your LMS. You can find more information on this here: Quiz Data Sent to an LMS.
If I choose Passed/Incomplete options for reporting, then what tracking option should I choose whether track using slides viewed or tracking using quiz result. I don't have quiz in the course but have a result slide.
Using a results slide is a great way to track learner's responses/results if there is either a survey question or a graded quiz. If your course doesn't have either though, then it wouldn't need a results slide.
When using Passed/Incomplete for reporting and using slides viewed for tracking, Storyline will send that data to your LMS. How the LMS displays that data or reports out on it will be LMS specific, so you may want to reach out to them directly to see what options are available as well.
Please feel free to let us know if you need anything else!
I have used Passed/Incomplete for reporting and slides viewed for tracking. But the status is not shown as completed. For articulate it is told that Passed/Failed and Passed/Incomplete reporting options are best. Is their any issue using Complete/Incomplete and slides viewed for tracking a course that doesn't have Quiz?
As you have no need for a results slide, using Complete/Incomplete and Slides viewed method should work correctly. Alternatively, using a Complete Course trigger on your last slide is an option as well.
If you've tried testing this on your LMS and in SCORM Cloud as Vincent mentioned above, and still find yourself coming across an Incomplete result, feel free to reach out to one of our support engineers and they'll help you find a solution!
Hi - I'm having a similar problem - the courses all have the complete course trigger when the last slide starts- yet the LMS reports only a 50% completion. what other rules do i need to have to have it say 100%?
You mention that it was tested in SCORM Cloud as well so I assume you were able to recreate the issue?
With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
I ran through a few tests in SCROM cloud, and I did receive a Complete/Passed Status after going through the course. What could be causing this snag is LMS Standard selected when publishing the course.
Storyline supports AICC, SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, and Tin Can API (xAPI) standards. You can choose any of these to track both completion and success statuses in your LMS. Each LMS can interpret statuses differently, so some standards are better at producing consistent results.

Since you are not seeing a completion status, you may want to test the published output of your course in SCORM Cloud. SCORM Cloud can help determine if it is an issue on the LMS side or with the course itself.
Please let me know if you need any help with this! I am more than happy to help!

Hi Kate
have you tested in Scormcloud? if it works there it could be an LMS setting that needs tweaking.
hi yes i'ts been tested in stormcloud.
this is the message from the LMS team:
To clarify, this is not a setting in the Portal / LAB that is not working but something in the SCORM that is preventing completion from being passed.
Thanks for the information, Kate.

Hi Leslie - here you go =)

Thank you for sharing your file!

We have a great resource that provides more details on this here: Storyline: Reporting Completion and Success Statuses to an LMS.
heheh I must have changed something without realising it as yesterday before I saved that new version it did not - wish i could remember what it was!
