Wondering if there is a way to change the default parameters for the captions automatically inserted into step-by-step slides? Even though I was able to change the color/shape to what I want for making new captions in my file and made them the "default", but those changes were not carried forward to screen recordings.
After inserting a screen recording into your story as step-by-step slides, you can add, edit, and delete slides as usual, and you can modify the captions, hotspots, data entry fields, feedback layers, and mouse movements that Storyline automatically generated for you during the recording process.
For more information on how to do this, please take a look at the following article:
Thanks for the prompt reply. I already figured out how to edit the captions once the screen recordings are inserted into my Storyline file. What I am trying to figure out is how to make the default captions before hand so that I don't have to go in and edit each and every screen. Right now all my captions have a solid fill of blue with white text. I need for them to white with black text. While I am using the format paint tool to change them all... I am finding this to be a time killer.

Hi Gillian. I hope you had a great weekend!
You may be able to control this by adjusting your design theme before inserting the captions.
Take a look at the following tutorial:
Adjusting Properties for Shapes, Captions, and Text Boxes
Hopefully that will save you some time
Thanks!
Christine
