I've been working on a 125 slide project (most slides enclude step- by- step videos). I came across a few times of system fail when storyline shut down, but now when I uploaded my project, I received 'storyline error report'- and now the project does not preview the video (shows grey slide), and does not play my videos as well . I tried publishing my project, but this does not seem to help. is there any way I can fix this? I would really like to find a solution that doesnt require me to start over the entire project.

Yuck. Hate when that happens.
Have you tried importing your project into a new project?
If that hasn't worked, there are instructions here on how to repair Storyline
