I'm completely new to Storyline and I'm keen on working with it. However, I'm in this situation where I want to edit parts of a video that I have recorded for Step by Step View in an external video editor software. This is because I need to add some mock-up UI elements to the recorded software. Is there any way to access the recorded video as a file?
Hi there! For folks looking to hide sensitive information or add elements to their screen recording after the fact, check out this quick tutorial.
Hi Crystal,
thanks for the hint. However, the changes I have to make to the video are a little more extensive so this approach wouldn't work for me.
A solution that worked for me, was to export the clip from each slide I had to make changes to, editing this clip in my video editor and then adding the videos to the slides again, placing them over their original versions.

open the screen recording under the record screen slides tab and then right click and export video.
You can also publish your content and then get the .mp4 video from the story_content folder.
But how can I import the video after I made my changes?
I guess this won't work when I want to export my content as a video file...
You cannot export and reimport it
Guess I'll have to figure out a different approach then. Thanks however!
