I have some narration where it ends in one layer so that the learner can click on hotspots and gain more info. I have a trigger set up so that only when the learner clicks the next button will the next layer show and the audio starts up again. However, it isn't working. The next layer just pops up while the interaction is going on and the narration continues. Please help!
Sorry to hear about the odd behavior you're experiencing. It sounds like your layer may have a trigger on it to be shown automatically? Perhaps you could share this .story file here with us so that we could take a look at your triggers and any slide/layer properties that could be interfering with what you'd like to see occur.
You can attach the file using the "add attachment" button to the bottom of the reply box.

I actually fixed it. Trial and error with LOTS of triggers added. It doesn't look pretty on the backend but it works.
